We're at the top of Calverley Grounds in the centre of Royal Tunbridge Wells, about 5-6 minutes from the station. Unfortunately we don't have any car parking space, but the nearest public car park is in Crescent Road, just 5 minutes from the Club. This costs £5.20 for a complete day, EVEN ON SUNDAYS as from October 2007. This Car Park can get very full - an alternative car park almost as close to the Club is at the Great Hall (bottom of Calverley Grounds opposite the station). However, this is considerably more expensive at £9.00 per day! |
Leave the Crescent Road Car Park by the vehicle entrance to Crescent Road. Immediately cross the road and the entrance to the Catholic Church should be visible to your right. A few yards before this on your left you will see a stone archway and Lodge house (marked by a yellow dot on the plan below). Pass through the arch and walk straight ahead towards the (gated) entrance to a private road. The entrance to Calverley Park is to your right via a footpath just before this road entrance. Follow the footpath for 30 yards, turning left onto a path which passes above a tennis/basketball court. A few yards straight ahead you will see the gate to the Croquet Club and our Club House.
Refreshments are limited in the Club House, but there is a cafe in Calverley Park and a wide variety of cafes, restaurants and shops providing facilities on the far side of the car park in Crescent Road (about 5-6 minutes from the Club). Copyright © Royal Tunbridge Wells Croquet Club 2003-2008 |
